The Southwest Section of The Wildlife Society has been an active Section since 1962. With the advent of modern communication capabilities, this Section level of organization in The Wildlife Society, between the State Chapters and the National level, has had to find new roles, new ways to be useful to their membership. In some regions of North America the Section is the dominant local level of organization. In the Southwest we have 3 strong and active State Chapters. The Section has taken a role of enhancing communication and facilitating member collaboration while working on regional issues across state and international boundaries.
